ART COLOGNE is on the move The fair recorded strong sales in the five- to six-figure range on all four days, attracting around 45,000 visitors. In addition to prominent national and international collectors, the expanded offerings for young galleries, as well as the fair’s high quality and elegant appearance, were particularly praised. NEW POSITIONS — Promotion of young artists at ART COLOGNE Each year, the NEW POSITIONS sponsorship programme offers an outstanding opportunity to introduce the works of young artists in the framework of a solo presentation at ART COLOGNE. Placed directly next to the stand of the submitting gallery, the 25 m² booths, free for the gallery, provide an ideal platform for up-and-coming positions of contemporary art. The programme is realised jointly by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), the Federal Association of German Galleries and Art Dealers (BVDG) and Koelnmesse. For more than thirty years, it has contributed to enabling young, exceptionally talented artists from Germany and abroad initial access to the art market and at the same time drawing the interest of collectors and a trade public from museums and institutions to them and the presenting gallery.
